Hike the Shades of Death like the old days-
-lace up boots with heels for the ladies
-parasol for sun protection
Join Rich Scott for a guided hike through some of the most striking canyons of Indiana’s Yosemite Park, so called in 1916 by Colonel Joseph Frisz who owned the resort at Shades. Here is where the elegant swain of yesteryear took his fair lady and families came for picnics and roller skating. Listen to the legends of these ravines as Rich regales you with facts and fancy from 100 years ago when the hotel and ball room were entertaining the rich and famous from around the Midwest and beyond.
We welcome you to come dressed to the nines in long skirt and mutton chop sleeves_ or no. However you are dressed, you will still enjoy this stroll through nostalgia with Rich. See you on Sunday, June 26 th at Shades State Park. The hike leaves at 3:30 after cake punch and ice cream at the Hickory Shelter.
