The Friends of Sugar Creek invite you to attend our Annual Family Float trip on June 13th.
When: June 13th, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: Launch from Old Coke Plant 608 Lafayette Ave. in Crawfordsville, and end at Bachner Nature Preserve on Offield Monument
The first 10 members to reserve their attendance via email or Facebook will receive a complimentary canoe rental! Please provide your name, contact information, and number of attendees to reserve your spot.
Canoes have been reserved and will be provided by Clements Canoes and made available at the launch site that morning. The first 10 canoes to registered attendees are free, otherwise the fee is $30/canoe. Attendees are encouraged to provide their own canoes should they choose.
The 2015 float will launch from the Old Coke Plant in Crawfordsville and end at the Bachner Nature Preserve: a 7.5 mile trip. We will stop midway for lunch at the Historic Yountsville Mill where educators will share stories and information about the creek and its ecology. Drinks and snacks will be provided, but families should plan accordingly with a packed lunch.
Attendees providing their own canoe, or with large families, should drop off all gear and passengers at the Coke Plant launch site at 9 a.m. Cars and trucks will then be driven to Bachner Nature Preserve (exit point), with a shuttle service awaiting to transport you back to the launch. The float will begin promptly at 10 a.m. and end around 2 p.m.
